Baud is a small town overlooking the picturesque Eivel Valley and is located within easy reach of the major Towns of Vannes and Lorient.  

There is a small market on Saturdays and the Town is very well supplied with shopping facilities including two Supermarkets, four Boulangeries and eight restaurants to suit all tastes. With menus from 8 euros.

The unusual Postcard Museum situated in the Town itself houses 20,000 ancient postcards depicting Brittany. The sculptured fountain de la Clarte which supplies two old picturesque wash houses, Tradition has it the the waters had the power to cure certain illnesses of the eyes, both are easily reached by a short walk via the lakes and the park to the Town. 

From England there is a wide choice of Ports giving you various alternatives of traveling to our gites: 1.75 hours drive from St. Malo 4 hours from Caen and 5.5 hours from the Channel Ports. The other Ports of Cherbourg, Roscoff are also easily accessible. 

The Foret de Camor for walking and cycling is only a short distance away as are the famous beaches of the Morbihan which include Carnac, and Lamour Plage. Port Louis with its maritime museum situated in the Citadel is well worth a visit together with all the other small bays in the area including the very pretty Locmariaquer, Auray and the Quiberon Peninsular. 

The area offers many things to do and see including tennis, Golf, Fishing, cycle hire, the river Blavet, Chateau's at Hennebont, St Ann d'Auray, Port St Goustan with its cobbled streets and timbered buildings are only a short distance from us. 
There are excellent markets in Vannes, Lorient, Hennebont, Carnac and Auray.

All are easily accessible from our Gites, with fantastic uncluttered roads connecting you to the rest of Brittany.
