SORRY NOT AVAILABLE THIS YEAR 2012 AS IT IS HAVING A MAKE OVER.

Our Farmhouse Baud Gite is situated on the edge of the charming town of Baud, in Brittany, France. The town’s bars, shops, public swimming pool etc are within easy walking distance of our Gite.  We are ideally suited for couples or up to 4 people plus baby. We have two large bedrooms both ensuite. See Gite Prices and Booking section for full details.

Baud is a small town overlooking the picturesque Evel Valley and is located within easy reach of the coast and the major towns of Vannes and Lorient.

The town is very well supplied with shopping facilities including three supermarkets, banks, four boulangeries, and eight restaurants to suit all tastes.  There is a small market on Saturdays.  The town centre is an easy walk from the Gite crossing no main roads.

The unusual Postcard Museum, situated in the town itself, houses 20,000 ancient postcards depicting Brittany.  The sculptured fountain ‘de la Clarté’ supplies an old picturesque wash house.  Tradition has it that the waters had the power to cure certain illnesses of the eyes.  The very attractive park, which is only a few minutes walk away, has new children’s equipment and a fitness program for adults.

From England there is a wide choice of ports giving you various alternatives of travelling to our Brittany Gite: 1.75 hours drive from St. Malo, 3.5 hours from Cherbourg and 5.5 hours from the Channel Ports.  The other ports of Caen and Roscoff are also easily accessible.

Our Gite overlooks the Camor Forest which is excellent for walking and cycling.  Only a short distance away from us are the famous Morbihan beaches, which include Carnac and Lamour Plage.  Port Louis, with its maritime museum situated in the Citadel, is well worth a visit together with all the other small bays in the area including the very pretty Locmariaquer, Auray and the Quiberon Peninsular.

The area offers many things to do including tennis, golfing, fishing, walking and cycling, There are plenty of excellent places to visit: chateaux at Hennebont, Pontivy and Josselin and the beautiful Blavet River area.  The delightful Port of St Goustan, with its cobbled streets and timbered buildings, is only a short distance from us.
There are excellent markets in Vannes, Lorient, Hennebont, Carnac and Auray.

All the above are easily accessible from our Gite, with fantastic uncluttered roads connecting you to the rest of Brittany.  From the Gite you have the best of the town, the countryside and the nearby coast.
